How it works

Three steps from install to an encrypted conversation. Nothing about you leaves your device.

  1. 1

    Join as a Guest

    Jump straight in as a Guest. No account, phone number, email, or SIM card required. Generate a private cryptographic identity in seconds.

  2. 2

    Secure discovery

    Find contacts via public keys or ephemeral QR codes. Your address book stays private on-device.

  3. 3

    Encrypted connection

    Messages and calls are routed through multiple hops, with end-to-end encryption active by default.

The architecture of absolute privacy

Six layers of core infrastructure, built so that only you and the people you talk to can read your conversations. Not even us.

Private network

Multi-layer routing that masks your IP address and physical location from every node in the chain.

Sovereign identity

Your identity is a cryptographic key pair known only to you. No central registry, no recovery backdoors.

Quantum-resistant

Future-proof encryption using lattice-based cryptography to protect against quantum computing threats.

Zero-access

We run the infrastructure but never hold your keys or see your messages, and we keep as little metadata as possible.

Global node distribution

A decentralized network of thousands of nodes across 140+ countries, ensuring 99.9% uptime.

Self-healing mesh

The protocol automatically reroutes traffic if nodes go offline or network partitions occur.

Protocol deep dive

Silentum isn't just an app; it's a stack. We've layered industry-standard protocols with custom-built metadata stripping layers.

  1. Layer 1Signal Protocol for messaging
  2. Layer 2WebRTC + onion routing for voice
  3. Layer 3Custom metadata stripping engine

Security deep dive

Silentum's architecture ensures that cryptographic keys never leave your device. Our implementation of the Signal Protocol provides the gold standard of messaging security.

  • Perfect forward secrecy

    Each session uses a unique key, so a compromised key can't decrypt past communications.

  • Encrypted local storage

    All data residing on your mobile device is encrypted with AES-256 at rest.

  • Auto-wipe settings

    Set Auto-Wipe timers so messages disappear from your device automatically.

  • No contact sync permission

    We never ask for or upload your address book. You control your network.

Why Silentum?

Security is an investment in your digital future.

Common questions

Can't find what you need? Write to us at support@silentumai.com.

Is Silentum free to use?

Yes. The Lite plan is free and includes private messaging and encrypted voice calls. Pro (a subscription) and Lifetime (a one-time purchase) are optional upgrades you can buy inside the app through Google Play.

Do I need a phone number or email to sign up?

No. You can join as a Guest in seconds. Silentum generates a private cryptographic identity on your device, with no phone number, email, or SIM card required.

Can Silentum read my messages?

No. Messages are end-to-end encrypted and your keys never leave your device. We run the infrastructure but never hold your keys or see your messages.

How do I find and add contacts?

Share your public key or scan an ephemeral QR code. Silentum never asks for permission to read or upload your address book.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Data on your device is encrypted with AES-256 at rest, and Auto-Wipe timers make messages disappear automatically. We cannot recover your passcode, so keep it safe.

Which encryption does Silentum use?

Messaging runs on the Signal Protocol with perfect forward secrecy. Voice uses WebRTC with onion routing, and a custom engine strips metadata. Pro adds a quantum-resistant layer.

Is Silentum available on iPhone?

Silentum Ai is currently available only on Android. Download it free from Google Play.

How do I delete my account?

Follow the steps on our Delete Account page. Because your identity lives on your device, removing it erases your keys permanently.

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 August 2026 · Last updated: 16 October 2026

The short version

  • Your messages, voice calls and video calls are end-to-end encrypted. We can't read, hear or see them.
  • You can join without a phone number or email. We never access your contacts or location.
  • Chat and call history are stored only on your device.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads or use your conversations to train AI.
  • You can delete your account and data at any time.

1. Who we are

Silentum is a private communication app for voice calls, video calls and chat over the internet. It is operated by SyamsuR Technologies Private Limited, a company registered in India ("Silentum", "we", "us").

This policy explains what information we process when you use the Silentum Android app, our website at silentumai.com and our support channels (together, the "Service"), why we process it, and the choices you have. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we are the controller.

By using the Service you agree to the processing described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What we cannot see

Silentum is built so that the content of your conversations stays between you and the people you talk to.

  • Messages, voice calls and video calls are end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted on the devices of the people you are talking to. We do not have the keys, so we cannot read your messages, listen to your calls or watch your video.
  • Your encryption keys are created and kept on your device. We never receive your private keys.
  • Your chat history and call history are stored only on your device. We do not keep a copy in the cloud.
  • We do not access your phone's contact list. Silentum never asks for permission to read or upload your address book.
  • We do not collect your location.

3. Information we process

We keep the information we process to the minimum needed to connect your calls and messages and to run the Service.

3.1 Account information

  • Guest identity. You can join as a Guest without a phone number, email address or SIM card. The app generates a random user ID and a cryptographic key pair on your device. We receive your user ID and your public key so that others can reach you.
  • Username. If you choose a username, we store it so other users can find and recognise you.
  • Passcode. Your passcode protects access to your account. We never store or transmit it in readable form, and we cannot see or recover it.

3.2 Information needed to deliver calls and messages

  • Network information. To route a call or message, our servers and relay nodes must handle your IP address and basic connection information (such as port and network type). This is used only to establish and carry the connection, and to protect the Service against abuse. It is not used to track you and is deleted once it is no longer needed for these purposes.
  • Encrypted messages in transit. If the person you are messaging is offline, we temporarily hold the encrypted message until it can be delivered. It stays encrypted the whole time, and we delete it once delivered or after 30 days if it cannot be delivered.
  • Call links and invite IDs. When you create a call link or invite ID, we store it so that the person you share it with can connect to you, until it expires or you revoke it.
  • Push notification token. To alert you to incoming calls and messages when the app is closed, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service. We store a device token for this purpose. Notifications we send do not contain the content of your messages.

3.3 Device and app information

  • Device model, operating system version, app version and language, used to keep the app compatible and to fix problems.
  • Crash and error reports, where available,, which help us fix bugs. These reports do not include message or call content.

3.4 Purchases

Paid plans (Pro and Lifetime) are bought through Google Play. Google processes your payment. We receive only the information needed to confirm your purchase, such as the product, purchase token, order ID and subscription status. We never receive your card or bank details.

3.5 Support and communications

If you contact us, we process the information you send, such as your email address, your username and the content of your message, to answer you.

3.6 Information you share with other users

Your username, user ID and anything you choose to send in a conversation are visible to the people you communicate with. They can save, screenshot or forward what you send, so please share with care.

4. App permissions

Silentum asks for device permissions only when you use the feature that needs them. You can change them at any time in your phone's settings.

PermissionWhy we ask
MicrophoneTo make voice and video calls.
CameraTo make video calls and scan QR codes for secure discovery.
NotificationsTo alert you to incoming calls and messages.
Nearby devices / BluetoothTo use Bluetooth headsets and earbuds during calls.
Photos and filesOnly if you choose to send a photo or file in a chat, where the app supports it.
Contacts and locationNot requested. Silentum does not access them.

5. How we use information

We use the information above only to:

  • create and secure your account and let other users reach you;
  • connect and deliver your calls and messages;
  • send call and message notifications;
  • provide paid features and confirm purchases;
  • keep the Service secure, prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions;
  • fix bugs, maintain compatibility and improve reliability;
  • respond to support requests and send important service notices; and
  • comply with applicable law.

Our legal basis. Under the DPDP Act we process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give by using the Service and can withdraw at any time by deleting your account, and for legitimate uses permitted by law. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where required.

6. What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal data.
  • We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
  • We do not read, scan or analyse the content of your messages or calls.
  • We do not use your conversations to train artificial intelligence models.
  • We do not build advertising profiles about you.

7. When information is shared

We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service, such as cloud hosting and relay infrastructure, Google Firebase (notifications) and Google Play (purchases). They may use the information only to provide their service to us and must protect it.
  • Network relay nodes. Calls and messages may pass through several relay nodes to hide your location. These nodes carry only encrypted traffic and cannot read its content.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information when we are required to by law or a valid order from a competent authority. Because of end-to-end encryption, we cannot provide the content of messages or calls; we can provide only the limited information described in this policy that we actually hold.
  • Safety. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect someone from serious harm.
  • Business changes. If Silentum is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

8. International transfers

Silentum runs on a global network, so your information may be processed on servers outside India or outside your country, including in Europe, the United States and the Asia-Pacific region. When we transfer personal data, we take steps to protect it as required by applicable law, and we do not transfer it to any country restricted by the Government of India.

9. How long we keep information

InformationHow long we keep it
Account information (user ID, public key, username)Until you delete your account. Inactive Guest accounts are deleted after 12 months of inactivity.
Encrypted messages waiting for deliveryUntil delivered, or 30 days at most.
Network and connection informationOnly as long as needed to carry the connection and protect the Service against abuse
Call links and invite IDsUntil they expire or you revoke them.
Purchase recordsAs long as required by tax and accounting law, currently up to 8 years.
Support messages2 years after the request is closed.
Chats and call historyOnly on your device, until you delete them or use Auto-Wipe.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Copies in backups are removed within 30 days.

10. Security

We protect your information with end-to-end encryption using the Signal Protocol for messages, encrypted WebRTC with multi-hop routing for calls, perfect forward secrecy, and AES-256 encryption of data stored on your device. Access to our systems is restricted and monitored.

No system is completely secure. You also play a part: keep your phone's software up to date, use a screen lock, and keep your passcode private.

We cannot recover your passcode or keys. Because we never hold them, losing your passcode or your device may mean you permanently lose access to your account and conversations.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • access a summary of the personal data we process about you;
  • correct or update it, for example by changing your username;
  • erase it by deleting your account;
  • withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing already carried out;
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated (DPDP Act);
  • where the GDPR applies, object to or restrict processing and receive your data in a portable format; and
  • complain to us, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.

To exercise a right, email support@silentumai.com with your username or user ID. We may ask you to confirm the request from inside the app to make sure it really is you. We respond within 30 days.

You can also manage your data directly in the app: clear your call history, delete chats, set Auto-Wipe timers, revoke call links and delete your account.

12. Children

Silentum is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly process personal data of children. If you believe a child is using Silentum, contact support@silentumai.com and we will delete the account.

13. Our website

Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores only a few display preferences in your browser, such as your light or dark theme choice, which never leave your device. Details are in our Cookie Policy. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you visit.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 1 August 2026 · Last updated: 1 August 2026

The short version

  • You must be 18 or older to use Silentum.
  • Keep your passcode safe. We can't recover it or your keys if they're lost.
  • Silentum can't be used to call emergency services.
  • Don't use Silentum to break the law or harm others. We may ban accounts that do.
  • Pro renews through Google Play until you cancel. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and SyamsuR Technologies Private Limited ("Silentum", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Silentum app, our website and related services (the "Service").

By installing, accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who can use Silentum

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the law that applies to you. You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned from it, or if the law where you live prohibits you from using it.

3. Your account and passcode

  • You can join as a Guest without a phone number or email. Your identity is a cryptographic key pair created on your device.
  • You are responsible for keeping your device and passcode secure and for everything done through your account.
  • Choose a username that does not impersonate anyone or infringe anyone's rights. We may reclaim or change usernames that break these Terms.

We cannot reset or recover your passcode or encryption keys. If you forget your passcode or lose your device, you may permanently lose access to your account and messages. We are not responsible for that loss.

4. The Service

Silentum lets you make voice calls, video calls and send messages over the internet, with end-to-end encryption. To use it you need a compatible device and an internet connection; data charges from your mobile or internet provider may apply.

Call quality and delivery depend on your network, your device and the network of the person you are contacting, so we cannot guarantee that every call will connect or every message will be delivered. We may add, change or remove features over time.

5. No emergency calls

Silentum is not a replacement for your phone service and cannot be used to call emergency services such as 112, 100, 101, 102, 108 or 911. Always make emergency calls through your mobile network or a landline.

6. Acceptable use

Privacy is not a licence to harm others. You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break any law, or help anyone else do so;
  • share child sexual abuse material or anything that sexually exploits or endangers children;
  • threaten, harass, stalk, bully or intimidate anyone, or promote violence or terrorism;
  • commit fraud, scams or phishing, or impersonate any person or organisation;
  • send spam, unsolicited bulk messages or automated calls;
  • share content that infringes someone's intellectual property or privacy;
  • distribute malware, or attack, overload, probe or disrupt the Service or its relay network;
  • reverse engineer, scrape or access the Service by automated means, except as allowed by law or by our open-source licences; or
  • create accounts in bulk, or sell, rent or transfer accounts or usernames.

7. Your content and reports

You own the messages, media and other content you send. Because the Service is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot see that content and do not monitor it. You are solely responsible for what you send.

You can report a user or block them from the app. When you report a conversation, the messages you choose to include are sent to us so we can review them. Based on reports and the limited information we hold, we may warn, restrict, suspend or ban accounts that break these Terms.

8. Recording and screenshots

If you record a call or capture content using any tool, you are responsible for getting the consent required by law from everyone involved. Do not record or share other people's conversations without their permission.

9. Plans, payments and subscriptions

  • Lite is free. We may change what the free plan includes, with notice.
  • Pro is a subscription billed through Google Play. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • Lifetime is a one-time purchase that gives you Pro features for as long as we operate the Silentum service. It is personal to you and cannot be transferred.
  • All payments are processed by Google Play under Google's terms. Prices are shown in the app and may include applicable taxes.
  • Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy, unless the law where you live gives you further rights.
  • If we change the price of a subscription, we will tell you in advance, and the new price will apply from your next renewal.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play first.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service, including the Silentum name, logo, app design and software, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose under these Terms. Parts of our software may be offered under open-source licences, and those licences take precedence for those parts.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.

11. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as Google Play and Firebase. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use puts other users, the Service or us at risk. If we end the Service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law, will continue to apply.

13. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Silentum secure and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure, or that it will meet your specific needs. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Silentum and its directors, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or access, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of access caused by a forgotten passcode or lost device.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and INR 1,000.

15. Indemnity

You agree to compensate and protect Silentum from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service or your violation of anyone else's rights.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Subject to that, the courts in India having jurisdiction over our registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change, you accept the updated Terms.

18. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, that does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

19. Contact and grievances

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@silentumai.com.

Delete your Silentum account

Effective date: 1 August 2026 · Last updated: 1 August 2026

The short version

  • Delete your account any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account.
  • No app access? Email support@silentumai.com and we'll delete it for you.
  • Your account is removed from our systems within 7 days and from backups within 30 days.
  • Cancel any Pro subscription in Google Play first. Deleting your account doesn't cancel it.

This page explains how to delete your account and the data linked to it for the Silentum Ai app on Google Play (package com.silentum), published by SyamsuR Technologies Private Limited. You can delete your account in the app, or ask us by email at support@silentumai.com without reinstalling the app.

1. Delete your account in the app

This is the quickest way, and it works even for Guest accounts.

  1. Open Silentum and log in with your passcode.
  2. Tap the menu (☰) at the top right and open Settings.
  3. Go to Account and tap Delete account.
  4. Enter your passcode and confirm.

Your account is deactivated straight away and you are signed out on that device.

2. Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app or cannot log in, email us and we will delete your account for you.

Email support@silentumai.com

Include your username and, if you have it, your user ID. Because Silentum accounts do not use a phone number or email, we may ask you to confirm the request in a way only the account owner can, such as from the app on a device where you are still signed in. If we cannot verify ownership, the account will be deleted automatically after 12 months of inactivity.

We confirm deletion requests by email within 7 days.

3. What we delete

  • Your user ID, public keys and username
  • Encrypted messages still waiting to be delivered to you
  • Your call links and invite IDs
  • Your push notification token
  • The link between your account and any Silentum purchase
  • Any support requests linked to your account, unless we must keep them by law

Your username becomes available to others after 90 days.

4. What may be kept, and why

  • Data on devices. Your chats and call history live on your device, so delete them or uninstall the app to remove them. Messages you sent remain on the devices of the people you sent them to, unless they disappear through Auto-Wipe.
  • Purchase records. Google keeps its own records of payments. We keep basic transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently up to 8 years.
  • Legal and safety needs. We may keep limited information if the law requires it, or to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or enforce our Terms, for example about an account banned for abuse.
  • Anonymous statistics that can no longer identify you.

5. How long deletion takes

StepTiming
Account deactivated and hidden from other usersImmediately
Removed from our active systemsWithin 7 days
Removed from backupsWithin 30 days

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore your account, username or messages afterwards.

6. Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription. Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, choose Silentum and tap Cancel subscription. Lifetime purchases are not refundable on deletion unless required by law or Google Play's refund policy.

7. Delete some data but keep your account

  • Call history: open History and tap the delete icon.
  • Chats: delete individual messages or whole conversations from the chat screen.
  • Auto-Wipe: set timers so messages disappear automatically.
  • Call links: revoke a shared link at any time.

Uninstalling the app removes data from your device but does not delete your account from our servers.

8. Need help?

Email support@silentumai.com with "Account deletion" in the subject. We reply within 7 days. See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle your data.

The Silentum name and logo, the app's design and software, and the text, graphics and other material on this website are owned by SyamsuR Technologies Private Limited or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws of India and other countries.

You may view and share links to our website. You may not copy, modify, republish or sell our content, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.

2. Open-source software

Some parts of Silentum may be released under open-source licences. Those parts are governed by their own licence terms, which take precedence over this policy for those components. Third-party open-source components remain the property of their authors.

3. Content you share

You own what you send on Silentum, and you are responsible for making sure you have the right to share it. Do not use Silentum to share content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademarks.

Because messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot see or remove content inside private conversations. We can act on accounts, for example by restricting or suspending them, when infringement is reported to us. Public material we host, such as usernames and profile information, can be removed directly.

4. Reporting infringement

If you believe your copyright or trademark is being infringed through Silentum or this website, send a notice to support@silentumai.com with:

  1. your name, address, phone number and email address;
  2. a description of the work you say is being infringed;
  3. the username, user ID or web address where the infringing material appears, and any evidence you can share;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

We review notices promptly and, where they are valid, act within the time required by applicable law, including the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

Please report accurately. Knowingly false notices can lead to legal liability.

5. Counter-notice

If action was taken on your account and you believe it was a mistake, or that you had the right to use the material, you can send a counter-notice to support@silentumai.com explaining why, with your contact details and signature. We may share it with the person who filed the original notice.

6. Repeat infringers

We may suspend or permanently close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the intellectual property of others.

1. General information

The information on this website and in the Silentum app is provided for general information about our products. While we work to keep it accurate and up to date, we make no promise that it is complete, current or free of errors, and it may change without notice.

2. Security and privacy

Silentum is designed to protect your communications with end-to-end encryption, multi-hop routing and encrypted storage on your device. However, no technology can guarantee absolute security or anonymity. Your protection also depends on things outside our control, such as the security of your phone, the apps installed on it, your network, and how the people you talk to handle your messages.

Descriptions of our technology, including terms such as "military grade" and "quantum-resistant", describe the design and standards we use. They are not a guarantee that the Service cannot be attacked or compromised.

3. Not for emergencies

Silentum cannot be used to contact emergency services. In an emergency, call 112 in India or your local emergency number using your mobile network or a landline.

4. Availability

Calls and messages rely on internet connections, third-party infrastructure and devices that we do not control. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, that every call will connect, or that every message will be delivered. Do not rely on Silentum for critical or time-sensitive communication.

5. No professional advice

Nothing on this website or in the app is legal, financial or security advice. If you face a specific risk, such as a threat to your safety, please speak to a qualified professional.

6. Figures and statistics

Figures shown on the website, such as countries served, node counts and uptime, describe our network at the time of writing and may change.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Silentum is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website, the app or the information in them. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions. Nothing in this disclaimer limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
